The Ladies Cross Country team placed 7th at they Sparta invitational on Saturday. Placing first for the team and 9th overall was Faith Clark with a 20:50. Following Faith was Kendra Johnson- 21:38, Taylor Burke- 23:04, Abby Sykes- 23:45, and Kallie Fehler- 23:59.

The boys Cross Country team placed Second out of 11 teams at the Sparta invitational on Saturday. Placing first for the team and 6th overall was Cameron Oleen with a 16:59. Following Cameron was Brendan Deneen- 17:02, NIck Kleinhecksel- 17:29, Jon Wildey- 18:11 and Peyton Sharlow 18:23.

Trojans get a big win away at RP in the OK Black. Best performance of the year to bring the team to 5-5 (4-1).
2 Goals by Zack Shane. One goal by Logan Fielding.
Assist to Cam Schultz and Cody Mayette.
Man of the Match may have been Kaleb Krueger who was instrumental in the middle defense and even play as GKer.
Shots were 13-10 favor of Trojans. RP had many corner kicks and dangerous chances but could not get past the defense.
Only the second shut-out of the season. 76 minutes and 8 saves to Connor Hines. 4 minutes and 2 saves to Kaleb Krueger who had to step in after an injury to Hines in a key moments to finish the second half. Defender Luke Hronek also made 2 block on the goal line preventing goals.
All 18 healthy Trojans made nice contributions for the win to finish off a key week of conference matches.
Seniors set the tone today. Beside the goal scorers mentioned above: Brendan Kemme, Ryan Bytwerk, Jerry Bosse and Eli VerMerris are filling roles that winning teams require.
Next Monday FHS host No More Sideline in our “Keeping Luke’s Passion” event.

Connor Hines made 12 saves in goal. Defenders Luke Hronek, Austin Golden, Kaleb Krueger, Logan Teitsma, and Brendan Kemme (1 save himself) had a gritty performance that was the difference today.
Great play from Carter Golden and Cameron Schultz who logged many miles with their work in the midfield.

Fruitport hosted their home invitational today and made a great run for the finals. Fruitport came out of a tough pool as the third place seed in the gold bracket defeating Montague 25-23, 25-8 and lost to a tough Forest Hills Northern team in the semis 27-29, 16-25. The Trojans finished the day 2-2-2. They were lead by Kylie Oberlin and Jordyn Carlyle in the middle with 37 and 35 kills. Setter Kailey Carmean had a strong day posting 112 assists and 22 digs. Fruitport’s strong defense was lead by Trinity Busscher with 55 digs and Chloe Kern recorded 31 digs. The trojans (14-7-2 ) will host OK Black Jenison at home on Tuesday.
